Project scope consists of roadway paving, storm sewer repairs, new water main and parkway restoration. The project improvements include:

Project Completed.

The projects are now completed with the exception of a few minor repairs to be made following a final walk-through with Village staff. The final walk-through is scheduled for next week.

Sod Restorations Completed

The contractor completed the sod restorations along Woodmere Lane and Locust Lane last week.

The contractor will continue to water the sod until it is established and healthy.

The projects are now completed with the exception of a few minor repairs to be made following a final walk-through with Village staff.

Sod Restoration On-Going

Woodmere Lane:

No work performed on-site.

The landscape contractor is currently completing the sod installation on Locust Lane and is anticipated to move to Woodmere Lane early next week.

The contractor will also perform the asphalt patching work at Woodmere and Glenview Road.  

Locust Lane:

Last week the landscape contractor completed the grading and installation of topsoil along the roadway and began installing sod. The sod restoration is scheduled to be completed later this week or early next week.

Once the sod restorations are done, the projects on both roadways will be completed.

Last week the contractor performed some miscellaneous repairs and structure adjustments along the project site.

Next week, the contractor is scheduled to complete grading and installing topsoil along with sod installation on Monday, September 16th.

Asphalt Paving Completed

Woodmere Lane:
No work completed on-site last week.

The final step in completing the project will be the installation of sod. Depending on the weather conditions, the contractor may begin installing sod next week. Otherwise, the contractor will wait until the weather is cooler for more favorable growing conditions. It is likely the contractor will begin installing sod the week of September 16th.

Locust Lane:

Last week the contractor performed landscape grading along the parkways in preparation for the installation of sod. The landscape grading and topsoil installation is nearly complete. A leak detection test of the new water main was also performed.

On Friday, the paving subcontractor completed the installation of the asphalt surface layer.

Depending on the weather conditions, the contractor may begin installing sod. Otherwise, the contractor will wait until the weather is cooler for more favorable growing conditions. It is likely the contractor will begin installing sod the week of September 16th.

Asphalt Binder Installed on Locust Lane

Woodmere Lane:
No work completed on-site last week.

The final step in completing the project will be the installation of sod. Depending on the weather conditions, the contractor may begin installing sod. Otherwise, the contractor will wait until the weather is cooler for more favorable growing conditions.

Locust Lane:

Last week the contractor performed work in preparation for asphalt paving including grading of the existing aggregate base course, repairing unstable sections of the base course, and saw-cutting of intersections and driveways. The contractor also installed the asphalt binder layer on the roadway.

Next week, the contractor is scheduled to perform landscape grading, topsoil installation, leakage testing, and other miscellaneous tasks. Depending on the weather conditions, the contractor may begin installing sod. Otherwise, the contractor will wait until the weather is cooler for more favorable growing conditions.

Once the landscape restoration is completed, the asphalt surface layer will be installed.

Now that the asphalt binder is installed, the amount of dust will be greatly reduced.

The final step in completing the project will be the installation of sod and installing pavement markings at Glenview Road. Sod will not be installed until after the Labor Day weekend due to more favorable growing conditions.

Locust Lane:

Last week the contractor completed the remaining underground utility improvements and removed the existing asphalt pavement.

Next week, the contractor is scheduled to perform fine grading of the aggregate base course and asphalt paving.

Now that the asphalt pavement is removed, the roadway is essentially a gravel roadway until the new asphalt pavement is installed. The Village is committed to ensuring the roadway is as smooth as possible.

Water Main and Services Completed on Locust

Woodmere Lane:
No work completed on-site last week.

The final step in completing the project will be the installation of sod. Sod will not be installed until after the Labor Day weekend due to more favorable growing conditions.

Locust Lane:

Last week the contractor installed and connected all of the new water services from the new water main to each residents individual water connection. The contractor also completed the connections and disconnections between the existing water main and new water main. The new water main is completely installed and fully operational.

Next week, the contractor will complete the remaining underground utility improvements. The contractor will also begin the roadway rehabilitation process along the roadway. The contractor is scheduled to be on-site on Tuesday, August 20th, to remove the existing asphalt pavement to the existing aggregate base course. The contractor will then perform any needed base repairs and perform fine grading prior to installing the new asphalt pavement.

We appreciate your patience this past week during the multiple water main shut-downs while completing the water main portion of the project.

Once the asphalt pavement is removed, the roadway will essentially be a gravel roadway until the new asphalt pavement is installed. The Village is committed to ensuring the roadway is as smooth as possible and minimizing, to the greatest extent possible, the time from pavement removal to pavement installation.

Water Services to Start on Locust

Woodmere Lane:
The roadway was paved last week as part of the 2013 Village Resurfacing Project.

The final step in completing the project will be the installation of sod. Sod will not be installed until after the Labor Day weekend due to more favorable growing conditions.

Locust Lane:

Last week the Village received all the required test results and permits to allow the contractor to begin installing water services to the residents.

Next week, the contractor will begin installing water services to individual residents and complete the remaining underground utility work including connecting the new water main to the existing systems and abandoning the old water main. During the connections to the existing water main, there will likely be a scheduled water main shut off. Residents will be notified 24-hours in advance prior to any scheduled water main shut-down.

During water service installation and connection to the existing service, water to individual homes will be shut off for a short period of time. The contractor will knock on the door of any home that will not have water prior to turning it off. The contractor will attempt to give each resident approximately 1 hour notice prior to turning of the water to install the water service.

As part of the 2013 Roadway Resurfacing Project, Arrow Road is anticipating to install the asphalt surface layer on Monday, August 5th.  

Locust Lane: Last week the contractor performed water main testing. We anticipate to get the results of those tests early next week. Once the water main tests pass, the contractor will begin installing water services along the project site.

During water service installation and connection to the existing service, water to individual homes will be shut off for a short period of time. The contractor will knock on the door of any home that will not have water prior to turning it off.

Water Main on Locust Completed

Woodmere Lane:
As part of the 2013 Roadway Resurfacing Project, Arrow Road completed the pavement removal process along Woodmere Lane. Minor pavement repairs and concrete work is anticipated to be completed next week. The contractor is anticipating to install the asphalt surface mid to late next week.

Locust Lane: Last week the contractor completed the main line water main installation including making the connection at Crabtree Lane. The contactor also performed storm sewer improvements along the project site.

Next week, the contractor will continue the water main testing.  The contractor will also complete the storm sewer improvements. There might be days with no work on-site due to waiting on test results for the water main next week. If all of the required water main tests pass, the contractor will begin installing water services to individual homes late next week.

During water service installation and connection to the existing service, water to individual homes will be shut off for a short period of time. The contractor will knock on the door of any home that will not have water prior to turning it off.

Locust Lane Water Main On-Going

Woodmere Lane: Last week the contractor completed grading of the existing landscape and installed topsoil. The sod will not be installed until after September to allow for more favorable growing conditions. The contractor also completed the remaining underground utility repairs.

As part of the 2013 Roadway Resurfacing Project, the contractor excavated, formed, and poured the concrete curb & gutter around the cul-de-sac island and at Glenview Road.

The pavement removal and re-paving of the roadway should begin in the near future.


Locust Lane: Last week the contractor completed making the connection to the existing water main at Locust Lane and Country Lane. The contractor also installed the new water main along Locust Lane towards Crabtree Lane.

On Monday, July 22nd the contractor anticipates connecting the new water main to the existing water main at Locust Lane and Crabtree Lane. There will need to be a water main shut-down to perform this work. All affected residences will be notified 24-hours prior to the water main being turned off.

Next week, the contractor will complete the water main testing. This process typically takes approximately 1 week to complete. The contractor will also begin making other underground utility improvements including storm sewer installation. There might be days with no work on-site due to waiting on test results for the water main next week. Once the water main passes all required testing, water service installation will begin.

Locust Lane Water Main to Begin Next Week

Woodmere Lane: Last week the contractor performed grading of the existing landscape and installed topsoil. The sod will not be installed until after September to allow for more favorable growing conditions.

The remaining items along Woodmere include making a repair to the storm sewer and asphalt patching around the additional excavations made.

As part of the 2013 Roadway Resurfacing Project, the contractor is anticipating to install the concrete curb & gutter around the island in the cul-de-sac next week. Once the concrete curb & gutter is installed, the roadway will be milled and resurfaced.  

Locust Lane: The contractor is scheduled to begin water main replacement along Locust Lane between Country Lane and Crabtree Lane this week.  A water main shut-down is scheduled on Tuesday, July 16th at 9AM and last 6 to 8 hours for the contractor to make the connection to the existing water main at Country Lane. Residents will be notified via a separate door hanger 24-hours prior to water being turned off. Please be aware, that as construction operations begin, there is always a chance the water main will need to be shut-down in the case of an emergency, likely because the existing water main broke. In these instances, every effort will be made to notified all effect residents as soon as possible.

At this time, the lawns will be graded in preparation for sod; however, sod will not be installed until the Fall when growing conditions are more favorable. 

Once the underground work is 100% completed, the entire roadway will be paved as part of the Village’s 2013 Street Resurfacing Project.

Underground Utilities Complete on Woodmere

Woodmere Lane: Last week the contractor completed the abandonment of the existing water main at Glenview Road and completed some miscellaneous structure adjustments and tasks around the jobsite. A leakage test on the newly installed water main was also completed.

The contractor has a few items to complete prior to being done on Woodmere Lane including site clean-up, grading of lawns, and minor repairs. At this time, the lawns will be graded in preparation for sod; however, sod will not be installed until the Fall when growing conditions are more favorable. 

Currently, the contractor will not be working on Thursday, July 4th and is not scheduled to be working on-site on Friday, July 5th.

Once the underground work is 100% completed, the entire roadway will be paved as part of the Village’s 2013 Street Resurfacing Project.

A water main shut-down is scheduled from Woodmere Lane from Glenview Road to the south end. This water shut-down is needed so the existing water main can be disconnected at Glenview Road.

The shut down is scheduled from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Tuesday, June 25th.

Trench Paving on Woodmere Completed

Woodmere Lane: Last week the contractor completed the asphalt trench paving within the stone trenches created during the underground utility improvements. The contractor also performed the internal epoxy lining of the existing sanitary sewer manholes.

The contractor has a few miscellaneous items to complete prior to being done on Woodmere Lane including abandoning the existing water main at Glenview Road, structure adjustments, site clean-up, and a few minor repairs.

Once the underground work is 100% completed, the entire roadway will be paved as part of the Village’s 2013 Street Resurfacing Project.

The water main abandonment will require a water main shut down. Residents will be notified 24-hours prior to water being turned off.

Yesterday a post was created stating that trench paving was going to begin today (Tuesday, June 18th). We got late notice that this work is now postponed to Wednesday, June 19th.

There might be some work on-site in preparation for the trench paving, but the work has been postponed.

Trench Paving on Woodmere on June 18th.

Woodmere Lane Residents -
We received late notice from the contractor that they will begin asphalt paving the stone trenches starting tomorrow, Tuesday, June 18th.

We ask for additional patience during these operations. Getting by all of the construction equipment will be difficult. We would ask that you minimize any trips to and from your homes as much as possible during working hours.

Woodmere Underground Utilities Nearly Complete

Woodmere Lane: Last week the contractor complete installing the water services to each home. The contractor also completed some miscellaneous underground utilities improvements to the storm and sanitary sewer system.

Work remaining includes epoxy lining of sanitary sewers, abandoning the existing water main, and trench paving. Trench paving is scheduled to be completed in the next few weeks. The Village is committed to  ensuring the open stone trenches are properly maintained until the asphalt pavement can be installed.

The week of May 13th, the contractor anticipates to begin saw-cutting the existing pavement, mobilizing equipment, and begin installing new water main. When the contractor begins water main construction, a water main shut down will be required on the first day of construction.
