Water Main on Locust Completed

Woodmere Lane:
As part of the 2013 Roadway Resurfacing Project, Arrow Road completed the pavement removal process along Woodmere Lane. Minor pavement repairs and concrete work is anticipated to be completed next week. The contractor is anticipating to install the asphalt surface mid to late next week.

Locust Lane: Last week the contractor completed the main line water main installation including making the connection at Crabtree Lane. The contactor also performed storm sewer improvements along the project site.

Next week, the contractor will continue the water main testing.  The contractor will also complete the storm sewer improvements. There might be days with no work on-site due to waiting on test results for the water main next week. If all of the required water main tests pass, the contractor will begin installing water services to individual homes late next week.

During water service installation and connection to the existing service, water to individual homes will be shut off for a short period of time. The contractor will knock on the door of any home that will not have water prior to turning it off.

Thank you for your patience during the construction operations.

We would like to extend our appreciation and patience with those residents who had their water shut-off for an extended period of time on Monday evening due to the various breaks in the existing water main.

Locust Lane Water Main On-Going

Woodmere Lane: Last week the contractor completed grading of the existing landscape and installed topsoil. The sod will not be installed until after September to allow for more favorable growing conditions. The contractor also completed the remaining underground utility repairs.

As part of the 2013 Roadway Resurfacing Project, the contractor excavated, formed, and poured the concrete curb & gutter around the cul-de-sac island and at Glenview Road.

The pavement removal and re-paving of the roadway should begin in the near future.

Locust Lane: Last week the contractor completed making the connection to the existing water main at Locust Lane and Country Lane. The contractor also installed the new water main along Locust Lane towards Crabtree Lane.

On Monday, July 22nd the contractor anticipates connecting the new water main to the existing water main at Locust Lane and Crabtree Lane. There will need to be a water main shut-down to perform this work. All affected residences will be notified 24-hours prior to the water main being turned off.

Next week, the contractor will complete the water main testing. This process typically takes approximately 1 week to complete. The contractor will also begin making other underground utility improvements including storm sewer installation. There might be days with no work on-site due to waiting on test results for the water main next week. Once the water main passes all required testing, water service installation will begin.

Thank you for your patience during the construction operations.

Locust Lane Water Main to Begin Next Week

Woodmere Lane: Last week the contractor performed grading of the existing landscape and installed topsoil. The sod will not be installed until after September to allow for more favorable growing conditions.

The remaining items along Woodmere include making a repair to the storm sewer and asphalt patching around the additional excavations made.

As part of the 2013 Roadway Resurfacing Project, the contractor is anticipating to install the concrete curb & gutter around the island in the cul-de-sac next week. Once the concrete curb & gutter is installed, the roadway will be milled and resurfaced.

Locust Lane: The contractor is scheduled to begin water main replacement along Locust Lane between Country Lane and Crabtree Lane this week.  A water main shut-down is scheduled on Tuesday, July 16th at 9AM and last 6 to 8 hours for the contractor to make the connection to the existing water main at Country Lane. Residents will be notified via a separate door hanger 24-hours prior to water being turned off. Please be aware, that as construction operations begin, there is always a chance the water main will need to be shut-down in the case of an emergency, likely because the existing water main broke. In these instances, every effort will be made to notified all effect residents as soon as possible.

Thank you for your patience during the construction operations.

No work completed on-site

Woodmere Lane: No work was completed.

The contractor has a few items to complete prior to being done on Woodmere Lane including site clean-up, grading of lawns, and minor repairs. At this time, the lawns will be graded in preparation for sod; however, sod will not be installed until the Fall when growing conditions are more favorable.

Once the underground work is 100% completed, the entire roadway will be paved as part of the Village’s 2013 Street Resurfacing Project.

Locust Lane: No work is anticipated.

Thank you for your patience during the construction operations.
